maisy-fuller-photo We are pleased to announce that Miss Maisy Fuller who just graduated from a Masters degree in Marine Biology from the University of Southampton (UK) will support the sea turtle conservation activities at Isla Cañas Wildlife Refuge in the Republic of Panama. She is passionate about environmental conservation has served as volunteer for Archelon, The Sea Turtle Protection Society of Greece and The Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre. She also has undertaken beach surveys, identifying nesting emergences, locating egg chambers and providing nest protection, in addition to determining hatching success rate with hatchling tracks and nest excavations. Maisy´s expertise will greatly help conservation activities carrying on now at Isla Cañas. This protected area is one of the most important nesting sites in the Pacific coast of Panama where the phenomenon of "arribadas" usually happens each year between September and October.
