Cerro Hoya National Park

Cerro Hoya National Park, on Panama’s Azuero Peninsula, is a haven for rare and endemic species. Its dense tropical forests are home to the critically endangered great green macaw, jaguars, and harlequin frogs. Birdwatchers can marvel at tanagers, toucans, and hummingbirds in the treetops. The park’s remoteness preserves its biodiversity, offering a pristine environment for wildlife to thrive.

Coiba National Park

Coiba National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the richest marine and terrestrial ecosystems in the Americas. Located in the Gulf of Chiriquí, it hosts over 145 species of birds, including the scarlet macaw and Coiba spinetail. Its surrounding waters are teeming with marine life—dolphins, whales, and sea turtles—making it a paradise for birders, divers, and conservationists alike.
