Vicente´s Poison frog vocalisation

Vicente´s Poison frog vocalisation recorded in Santa Fe

High in the tree tops of our Isleta field site in Santa Fe, we heard the amazing vocalization of Oophaga vicentei and for the first time there record it on the 12 of April 2014. This species first described in 1996, is endemic to Panama and under the IUCN Red List described as “data deficient”. Little is known about its natural history because its arboreal habitat and remote distribution range. We thank Dr. Rachel Page at Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama for generously let Dr. Eric Flores using her lab Marantz digital recording equipment to do this amazing vocalisation record.
