La Tortuga Laúd: Un Gigante del Pacífico Panameño en Peligro

La tortuga laúd (Dermochelys coriacea), la más grande de todas las tortugas marinas, está en peligro crítico en el Pacífico Oriental Tropical. A pesar de los esfuerzos de conservación, sus poblaciones siguen disminuyendo debido a la destrucción de su hábitat, la recolección ilegal de huevos y la contaminación por plásticos.

Jaguar Conservation in Panama 2023

Thanks to Islas Secas Foundation, PWCC has continued the installation of camera traps in Cerro Hoya and its buffer zone to monitor jaguar and other wildlife. The project aims to identify new forested areas outside Cerro Hoya that serve as conectivity corridors for wildlife.
